Okay, so it's only a day till the new SPN, and I'm dying. But I kind of don't want them to start too, because we've only got four left. :(
You know what ep I forget I like until I see it? Roadkill. The boys are so totally in character for that episode, and I love it. Also, I love that, instead of just immediately going for the salt and burn, Dean lets Sam try to help that woman 'cross over' or whatever. I don't think John would have let him, and while I love John to pieces, I love that, sometimes, their hunting styles are very different.
You're doing the random episode watching thing, aren't you? I often fall back on that one. There's so much brilliantly subtle character stuff going on in Roadkill that doesn't become clear for the longest time - I love the occasional outside POV. We spend so much time in Dean and Sam's heads that it's good at times to get an idea of how they come across to outsiders.
I don't think salt'n'burn was an option for Molly, was it? She was cremated. It's a pretty complicated case, when you think about it? Dean is definitely developing into very much his own style of hunting rather than just sticking to John's methods, though, and he and Sam complement one another wonderfully.

Yep! That and going through like 2 GB of screenshots I saved and then never did anything with. The thing is, the last chunk of season two is a little hard for me to watch! So much angst. It's like they were luring you in with the funny and then just decided to slam you with so much angst you're in shock. THat's not to say I don't watch, because WIAWSNB is one of my favorite eps; but looking back at those eps, it was just cruel, what they did to us!
Mmmmm. Making good use of the screenshots I made is a really good excuse for continuing with those lists of love I've been doing. But I'm going to have actual recapping to do this week, always supposing I recover from this damn cold in time. At least being home sick means I'll get to watch the new episode early this week!
The end of season two is a real emotional rollercoaster. It's really well done, so carefully maneouvring (damn, I can never quite spell that word!) Dean into the exact right hopeless and despairing frame of mind he needed to be in for the finale. And boy does it hit hard. Like being emotionally sandblasted.
You know what I feel bad about? Dean goes through all that at the end of the second season, and what does he get for his trouble? A season three full of "OMG I'M GONNA DIE AND GO TO HELL!"
It'll be tomorrow morning (or afternoon, depending on availability of torrents) as opposed to evening (although I sometimes manage to sneak in a lunchtime viewing if work is quiet and the torrent was really really quick, but don't tell Boss *G*)
Aye, poor Dean. His life it really does suck this last season or two. I mean, more so than it always has. At least he was relatively content and satisfied with his lot, if not happy, before it all started to seriously fall apart. It does seem to have been a pretty unhappy lot more or less since Mary died. But the last two seasons? Man. It's no wonder he struggles to retain any semblance of optimism these days.
