A long time ago, way back in the spring, I planted a bunch of gladioli bulbs. Only one of them bothered to grow and flower at the time it was supposed to.

Now, though, now that autumn is here and the nights are drawing in, and everything else in the garden has started to die back, the rest of those gladioli bulbs have decided that now would be the appropriate time to put in an appearance. And the rose has decided to burst back to glorious bloom, three months after it finished flowering.

Plants are as crazy as people.

Madness. It's all madness! The seasons are all up the spout, and so is my garden!

Perhaps they were autumn flowers?

My dad has planted some recently after he took out the summer ones because they are apparently autumn flowers. I'm not green fingered so one the wiser.

I've got a fuschia which insists on flowering in late October/November - it's in full bloom at the moment!

Did you covered the bulb so that you couldn't water it? I usual take them away from the garden to be sure, but anyway is lovely that life bloom even when it shouldn't do it.

Heh. My usual gardening technique revolves around sticking 'em in and then leaving them to their own devices! If they survive and flourish, excellent. If not, such is life.

Lazy, I know. *G*
