Wednesday update
Aug. 17th, 2005 10:28 amSo, I went round to Molly's last night. She seemed a bit brighter than she's sounded the last couple of times on the phone - the sense of humour is returning, which can only be a good thing. Especially after the chapter of accidents that was Monday, which took most of the evening to relate and I shan't attempt to repeat now.
Little Joseph is not good, though. Even in the best case scenario, he's going to be in hospital for at least the next six months, and his parents have to live there with him. They were planning to move down to West Wales, and even had a buyer for the house, but have now taken it off the market. They aren't going to be there much, but it is important to have that base to go back to, to be able to get away from the hospital for a while. Moll was so pleased yesterday that when she visited the hospital and was therefore there to take over looking after of the baby for them, Jason and Abby went out for a while - just to Tesco for breakfast, but it got them away from the hospital for an hour and allowed them to spend some time alone together. They need that. They've taken the clock out of their room, and no longer wear a watch. Time does not exist in that place. Joseph still hasn't started his chemotherapy, because he's got a slight infection that is being treated with hefty doses of antibiotic - until that is under control he can't have the chemo because of the effect on his immune system. He will be ten months old this weekend.
To anyone who reads this, I would ask - please pray for Joseph.
