The Small Sis went to see The Hobbit this afternoon with her support worker - I was amazed when I heard they'd gone because she's never seen or wanted to see any of the LOTR films, has no interest in the genre, knows nothing about the story or the universe, didn't even know going in how long it was going to be. It was just a film that happened to be on at the right time that she hadn't seen yet. So afterwards I asked for her verdict, and this was the entirety of her expressed opinion:

Me: How was the film?
Small: Long! You know that freaky alien thing - it was in Lord of the Rings as well.
Me: ...do you mean Gollum?
Small: That's one freaky alien!

You heard it here first, folks!

In other news, LJ keeps switching me over to the new posting portal without my consent. I don't like it!

I've seen it too and yes.. it IS long!

They are turning this tiny thin little book in three 3 hour films... It's beautifully shot, but the story is boring...

I'm excited about seeing it and all, but I feel like "long" may be a reasonable summary.

I don't like the new posting portal either.

Nicky and Emily are going to Nantgarw to see The Hobbit on Monday. The trip has been arranged by the school for the 'Nurture' group (children who don't socialise easily), and is free. I hope they enjoy it.
