So, the Olympics have kicked off then, two days ahead of the opening ceremony, with the first women's football matches taking place in Cardiff this evening. Road closures, police everywhere, visiting fans/tourists everywhere, news cameras everywhere, more street entertainment than you can shake a stick at - walking home from work tonight was fun! Thank goodness there's only the one sport going on here...

How can it start before the opening ceremony?
This Olympic thing is not very alive in my group of people, I wonder if I'll see anything.. Maybe just some horses :-)

I've no idea why they started the football tournament before the main event, but they have - we've had games going on since Wednesday!

Strange they have some of the events starting before the opening! Sounds like some fun - hopefully that won't turn into frustration for you locals ;D
