I bought a new phone today, more out of necessity than desire, since my old phone, which has served me well for several years now, was definitely on its last legs. I spent the afternoon and evening poking half-heartedly at said new phone, hoping to get to grips with it without too much effort. And then Chelsea came around to hang out for the evening. Within five minutes she understood my new phone better than I ever will.

Kids these days.

I can't even remember how old my phone is (8 years? 9?) It's a bit of a brick but still works, and since all I want to do is make the occasional call or send a quick text I'm resisting all attempts to get me to upgrade. Not least because finding out how a new one works might just send me quietly mad... :)

My old one has served me well for a good four years now, but it was definitely dying - the ringer only worked when it felt like it, the volume kept dropping off mid-conversation, and texts kept disappearing and then reappearing in my inbox. So I bite the bullet and invested in a new one, which is going to take absolutely ages to get used to - and I didn't even go for anything fancy! I did get a qwerty keyboard, though, as between one family member in hospital and another I've had to use text a lot this past year and all that multiple-pressing to get various characters was getting annoying, especially since it wasn't working properly.

It is likely, though, that finding out how this new thing works might very well send me quietly mad! Ah well, I can always ask Chel for help, if it comes to it...;)

Indeed. Amazing how they can know how to use something electronic in an instant.

I know, right! It's so intuitive to them - and so not-intuitive to me!
