website move and other stuff
Dec. 27th, 2011 05:00 pmOkay, so I think I've finally got my website move all done and dusted, yay! It's actually been up at the new home for a while now, but the coding was a bit wonky at first. I think it's all fixed and fine now, though. So, many many thanks to the lovely
rosely for hosting me for so long and for building the site for me in the first place (I am rubbish at php coding so absolutely could not have done it myself). And huge, huge thanks to the lovely
nikkimisplaced for offering to be my new host, over at belladonna.
So here it is, the shiny new link to Randomness
There is still tidying up work to be done, mind. Please let me know if you spot anything broken!
In Other News, I have a new project. And yes, I know, I know, I already have about a million unfinished projects lying around making me feel guilty for not getting back to them. What can I say? I am fickle and I have to go with whatever is eating my brain at any given time. At the moment, my brain is being eaten by my re-exploration of Classic Doctor Who, and when a show is eating my brain I have to write about it, so I have been, but in the interests of tidiness (and icons) and because I've been just writing for me, instead of posting my musings here I set up a shiny new Doctor Who journal for myself. I've been umming and ahhing over whether or not to advertise it here, since I doubt any of my f-listies will be remotely interested, but then I thought what the heck, why not? Someone might fancy taking a tour of a few Classic adventures, so here it is:

I won't sustain the motivation indefinitely, I already know that, because I never do, but for now it's a fun project that is keeping me entertained. And one day my brain will be eaten by one of my outstanding projects again, giving me the push to actually complete one of them!
In Other Other News, this timeline of Doctor Who is absolutely awesome.
In Other Other Other News, things are going seriously pear-shaped down in Cornwall this week. Please pray for my sister and her family, they are going through a really hard time at the moment, again.

Date: 2011-12-27 05:14 pm (UTC)I'm jumping around all over the place in my marathon. There is almost method in the madness, though. Mostly when I start a season or a Doctor I then progress in some kind of order, but I'm not sticking with any one Doctor for a complete run in one go - well, just look at the list I've got in the intro post on the other journal. That'll tell you all you need to know! If you wanted, you could also use it for recs. Most of the adventures I've done so far have been fairly strong or at least entertaining so are worth checking out. I am absolutely in love with Barbara at this point, so will have to continue with series 1 sooner rather than later. And Ian too, but mostly Barbara. She is awesome - you should see her in Keys of Marinus, she saves absolutely everyone at one point, all by herself, frees an entire city from slavery. And that's just a sub-plot to the overall adventure!

Date: 2011-12-27 06:55 pm (UTC)I should do more tidying at Randomness, really - I'm sure there are broken pic links in some of the reviews. But I can't quite bring myself to do any more just yet!

And talking of reviews... the reviews page at the new site is not bringing up anything. Just thought you might want to know.

Date: 2011-12-27 10:51 pm (UTC)And hmm, that's weird. I can see the page fine, but am quite prepared to believe that other people can't! Technology is weird. I know there are pics missing from some of the Pros reviews that I'll need to fix at some point when I have time and brain for fixing code bugs.
