Christmas is coming, my bank balance is getting low

I'm almost starting to feel festive, now I've been to my first Nativity play of the season! And not just any Nativity play, this was an open air performance with real animals, held at the Amelia Trust Farm where Chelsea is on placement three days a week. Chelsea made a wonderful King, riding a retired police horse named Officer Dibbs!

The crown had to fit over a riding helmet - health'n'safety, dontcha know - so it was enormous. *G*

She was so excited about riding a police horse. He was enormous, too!

Heh, no wonder! Police horses look so lovely--like gentle giants--I'd love to have the chance to ride one too!

That sounds a splendid Nativity Play. We have a Churches Together one here each year with adults, a donkey and a real baby which is always rather special. I love Chelsea's crown!

This was all out in the open - attendees were guided around the farm from one tableau to another by lantern-bearers. There were Mary and Joseph in one field, with Merlin the donkey, and then a bunch of shepherds gathered around a roaring fire in another field, complete with rather bemused sheep, a whole gaggle of little angels in tinsel and wellies - and a splendid trio of horse-riding Kings with enormous crowns fitted over their riding helmets! With our carol singing as a soundtrack. Fantastic!
