To celebrate the garden returning to life after a long, hard winter (and because [livejournal.com profile] kelzies asked), here's a little slideshow of flowers I photographed in mine and my mum's gardens over the weekend.

Spring 2011

And here's a couple of pics I snapped at the flower show last Friday - well, the castle I snapped on my way out of the show, the giraffe was on display in the show, and I include him here just because he was awesome.

Also over the weekend, I snapped the animals a few times - not my animals, though, but the menagerie at my mum's house. First up, my brother's cantankerous (and increasingly senile) old lady Chess plays hide and seek with that young whippersnapper, Ginger

Here we have Chloe in the rhubarb

Beautiful flowers, and so many of them already in bloom!
Lovely pets, too :)

Mostly daffs and clematis in bloom at the moment, but a few others are bursting out just lately too - spring has sprung!

Ahh, flowers. They're beautiful (and the various animals are very cute ... now I'm craving rhubarb). Thanks for sharing.

Just out of curiosity, have you seen your Mystery Cat around lately?

I do love the garden in spring, when everything starts bursting back to life again after being dead and bare all winter. :) The ferns in my back garden just did it last night - yesterday there was nothing there but dead stumps, today they've got two inches of growth. Magic!

I haven't seen Macavity the Mystery Cat since the end of January. I think he's left me. :( I just hope he's safe, wherever he is.

Nature is magic. ;)

I'm sorry to hear he hasn't been around. Hopefully Macavity adopted a new home.
