workworkwork...
Mar. 11th, 2011 11:30 amWork continues busy, now that I am being Sarah as well as myself. Items on my workload currently include: business continuity (about to be audited), equality and diversity, enrolment review, health and safety (also about to be audited), facilities management, plus planning an Open Forum for the Directorate in the summer. My to-do list is going critical!
On the bright side, however, baby Holly is doing extremely well - up to 4lb6oz now. She will be 4 weeks old tomorrow and might even be discharged from hospital this weekend, she is doing so well - although she is still over a month from her due date!

Edit: coming home from hospital this afternoon, in fact! Sarah is jubilant - best wishes to the little family :)
In other news, I am quite worried today about my cousin and his family in Tokyo. The devastation in Japan is horrendous. :( I just hope that Stephen, Yuki and the children are okay and clear of the worst of the earthquake damaage.
Edit again: this is the value of Facebook. I never, ever post on mine, but it allows me to keep in touch with far-flung relatives and know that they are okay if an earthquake strikes! Stephen has posted to say that it was bad and they are shaken, but they are all okay and away from the worst. Big relief.

Date: 2011-03-12 05:01 pm (UTC)Stephen says they feel very lucky, although very shocked and didn't get much sleep as the night was full of aftershock. He's just glad all four of them were at home together when it happened, so they didn't have the worry of not knowing where the others were or if they were okay.

Date: 2011-03-11 08:03 pm (UTC)Baby Holly was born 9 weeks prematurely - delivered by her dad at home on the bathroom floor in 15 minutes flat! Her mum had been in work as normal just the day before, shouldn't even have started her maternity leave yet! Came as quite a shock all round and we're still scrambling to catch up in work, but it's such a relief that she is so healthy and able to go home already. :)

Date: 2011-03-11 07:25 pm (UTC)Holly is doing incredibly well. They started trying to feed her normally this week because she kept pulling the feeding tube out - she has bags of personality already, yet she shouldn't even be born for another month yet! Then because she took to feeding so well and her lungs have been completely sound from the start, they decided she might as well go home, there was no need to keep her in hospital any longer. She looks like her mum, so far, but has her dad's build - long and thin!

Date: 2011-03-11 10:22 pm (UTC)Very pleased to read your relatives are OK. I thought Christchurch was bad enough, but see this on the news and how much worse it was than Christchurch ... WOW.
One asks, what next ?

I'm so glad that your family in Japan are all okay and far from the worst of it. It's absolutely horrifying, it's unbelievable.
