1. Had a fab day in London on Saturday, meeting up first with a few random relatives for lunch and then with a group of very lovely non-LJ Pros people who are among my very oldest fandom friends. :)

2. Well, Baker Boys ended on a total no, you can't stop there! moment - thank goodness there's going to be another series!

3. The new season of Being Human (the real one, not the US remake) is completely awesome so far.

4. The new season of Primeval is over already! I'm so glad I decided to start watching again. I drifted out of the show after the first couple of seasons, but the writing in this new season is so much stronger than it was back then - I'm eager to find out what happens in the 5th and possibly final season, when it airs.

5. I can't quite believe that this weekend's Lark Rise to Candleford is going to be the last ever. :( It's a bubblegum show compared to other costume dramas and irritates me at times with how modern and plot-driven the writing can be, but I love it nonetheless and am going to miss it enormously.

6. Hustle ends its seasonal run next week, as well. It's another show that I've tended to drift in and out of over the years, but have been watching more consistently lately - the addition of Emma and Sean in place of Danny and Stacey a season or two ago has really reinvigorated the show and reawakened my interest in the team.

7. And Supernatural is finally back off winter hiatus! I'm really enjoying season six, on the whole, even though I'm not writing about the show any more. After being so bogged down by the apocalypse over the last couple of seasons, the show has moved in a new direction now, which has proved wonderfully intriguing to watch, and the first half of the season was impressively strong. Hopefully this standard can be maintained!

8. As if I didn't have enough live TV to be going on with at the moment, I've started watching a couple of older shows on rental from lovefilm - The Fixer and New Street Law each had a couple of seasons a few years back. I've seen a couple of episodes of each now, and really enjoyed them both, so look forward to working my way through the rest of each of their runs.

9. I've been strangely addicted to Coronation Street lately. I'm not sure where that came from - I mean, I've always drifted in and out of it, over the years, as it has always been my home-grown soap of choice. But lately it seems to have turned into must-see TV for me! We'll see how long that lasts...

Lol, is that Hustle the same as "The Real Hustle" that Mitchell and George are such fans of? :p

Is Lark Rise the show on BBC1 Sundays before BH airs at 9 (that I saw part of b/c the stream was on the wrong channel, talking about women being allowed to participate on some sports team)?

And glad you agree BH is awesome so far this season, some people aren't happy with it...:/ I think it's been fab and a vast improvement on s2, and that's all M/A bias aside, lol!

What are Pros friends? :s

Heh, I think The Real Hustle kinda grew out of Hustle, but the two shows don't really have any connection. Hustle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hustle_(TV_series)) is a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek bubblegum show about a team of con-artists. The Real Hustle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Hustle) is more of a documentary-type show, which investigates the tricks employed by such con artists.

Lark Rise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lark_Rise_to_Candleford_(TV_series)) is a fab costume drama set in the 1890s - and this week's episode, yes, featured a story about cricket, with a sub-plot around whether or not a woman would be allowed to play with a men's team.

Pros = The Professionals (http://www.personal.u-net.com/~carnfort/Professionals/home.htm), a British cop show back in the 1970s-80s, which I am very very fond of and was one of my first online fandoms.

I have loved every BH episode of the season so far - and this week's was especially appealing because the original three spent so much time together as a group, which hasn't happened much lately.

It was fab to meet with you too. We must try not to leave it so long next time.
I'm with you on Primeval. I had got bored and irritated with it last series and wasn't fussed if it came back or not but I've really enjoyed this series.
Delighted you are enjoying The Fixer. I loved it and then got Carol into it - not surprisingly :)

Do you know, I thought of you when I started watching The Fixer - in some ways it almost feels like a very modern version of what Pros might have been if the concept were taken to its absolute extreme!

hee, I missed the first series (I have no idea why - it's exactly my sort of thing!) but watched the second, then Sue kindly got me the DVD of the first. I loved it - in fact, it's due a rewatch. :)

And Primeval as well - I missed the second series almost entirely, and some of the third, but I'm glad I got back into it.

Meeting up was great - we must do it again, sooner!

I've seen the first 4 eps of The Fixer so far and am really enjoying it - although part of me feels an assassin as a protagonist is a bit dodgy! I'm very fond of Andrew Buchan, though, and his Mercer really is compelling.

We definitely should meet up again sooner rather than later!

What? There will only be 6 Lark Rise episodes for its last season?? :( I've been really enjoying S4 so far and I feel that there are still plenty of stories to tell. Especially Dorkas' tentative love affair with Gabriel is really enjoyable and I don't think they can wrap it all up in one episode. /sigh

I enjoyed the Primeval finale as well and am really interested to see how they resolve the storyline in S5. TV is pretty awesome at the moment. SN, Fringe, FNL, BH, they are all very strong this season. I love it. *g*

Has it only been 6 episodes? (I hadn't been counting, but knew it wasn't many) My TV Guide definitely says that this week's is the last ever - shortened season, then, alas.

You caught up on Primeval really quickly! From zero to four seasons in no time at all!

Glad you had a great day up in London with the rellies :D And fandom friends.

Been enjoying the new SPN season too. Kind of sad to see so many hating on it, I haven't thought it's been ~that bad.

I think the new season of SN has been great - not perfect, sure, but it has reawakened my interest in the show, which was severely damaged by the overblown melodrama that was the apocalypse! This season has a much fresher feel to it and a strong sense of direction, which has been sorely lacking lately. Soulless Sam was intriguing, and the brotherly reunion since he got his soul back has been well worth the wait. What's to hate?

1. Sounds lovely! I love trips to London but sadly haven't been for a few years now. :(

2. I did send you a message on Nfans, but can you let me know when S2 comes back so I can watch it on iPlayer. Obviously we won't get trailers here and I don't want to miss it - I really got into it and need to know where it's going (although I expect Rob will say "oh nothing" when asked what he was going to say... surely?!

3. I've never seen this. I meant to watch it when it first aired to do some Bristol spotting, but it must have clashed with something.

4. Never seen this either!

5. I'm going to miss it too. The last series and this weren't as good as 1 and 2, but it was still the highlight of my Sunday. I assume you've watched the trailer - if you have you'll know who I mean when I say I'm looking forward to seeing what she's been up to - certain people didn't seem so happy to see her!!

6. I can't watch Hustle. I hate watching anything about gambling, it makes me feel sick. I don't know why...

7. I haven't seen this

8. I haven't seen those!

9. I got back into Corrie because of the tram crash, although I still only usually manage Monday's episodes!

Not long now until your great Bath adventure - looking forward to seeing you and Gaynor. :)

1. I don't get to London very often - every time I do go, I end up with a massive list of things I want to see and do, but never actually do any of them because there is never time - I'm always there for something quite specific, never for random tourism!

2. Message received - yes, I'll make sure I nudge you when it returns (surely not for an entire year now, alas) - very important to find out what happens next! I can't see Rob going through with pulling the plug, not after everything, but there is still bound to be massive fallout and some kind of twist, surely!

3. I missed the first season of Being Human when it aired, only caught up with it later - but then fell in love. It can be pretty dark and a tad graphic at times, but the characters are just fantastic and the writing and dialogue are unbelievably good (especially for BBC3!)

4. Primeval is all kinds of fun, I do recommend it. It can be clunky at times and the writing isn't always as good as it can be (hence my drifting out of the show for the whole of season 3), but taken as a whole it's perfect Saturday evening entertainment. :)

5. The first season of Lark Rise was definitely the best - it stuck most closely to the original source material. After that the writing started to become a lot more modern and plot-driven, but I still love it enormously and can't believe it's almost over. I have seen the previews for the finale - looking forward to seeing how that one plays out!

6. I think Hustle is the kind of show where you either really get into it and appreciate it for what it is (which is cheesetastically tongue-in-cheek fun) or you just can't. I've always really enjoyed it, although have never watched religiously. But if you can't, you can't!

7. No, I know you've never watched SN - it hasn't stayed as strong as the first couple of seasons, but I still enjoy it a lot - I hooked into the characters too strongly to give it up!

8. Lovefilm is ever so handy for checking out shows you missed when they were on. I confess that I added The Fixer to my rental list because of Andrew Buchan, having enjoyed him so much in Cranford and Garrow's Law (I wondered what he was like in a show set in modern times!). And New Street Law kinda stemmed from my current Corrie obsession - I really like Chris Gascoyne as an actor and decided to check out this other show he's been in (I remember liking him in Soldier Soldier as well). Plus, of course, John Hannah is always a big draw. I'm forever missing out on stuff when it is actually on and only catch up with it later!

9. I got back into Corrie after the tram crash, too, although had always kinda kept an eye on it - it's holding my attention pretty well so far!

I'm looking forward to the Bath trip enormously - can't wait to see you and Gaynor again! Also among my oldest fandom friends :)
