llywela1. We did Secret Santa in work yesterday - only a month late! Too many people kept getting sick, so it got pushed back and pushed back, and that worked out well in the end, 'cause it was fun to get a present in January!
2. After our veterinary excursion on Saturday, I hadn't seen Macavity for a couple of days until he reappeared this evening - vindicating my decision for him to have a single antibiotic injection rather than a course of tablets that I couldn't guarantee he'd stick around to complete. He always does like to come and go like the wind. Since he happily came back in for the evening on Saturday after our little trip to the vet and was in the house when I got home this evening, I'm assuming that he isn't too indignant over being shoved in a box, but is simply feeling much better now thanks to the medicine. He generally only comes in when he needs/wants something, which is why he spent most of December on the bed settee in my back room, while it was so arctic out, and then disappeared again as soon as the thaw set in. The rain drove him back in today, I imagine - although he didn't stay long after I got home, so there is evidently some trust to rebuild, understandably enough. I did get to have another go at bathing his wound, though, at least. Those two punctures have joined up into one massive hole now, but all the pus seems to have drained, so hopefully the wound will now start to heal. I'd be happier if he stayed indoors until it has closed up completely, but of course he has no intention of being so sensible!
3. Work is very busy and sapping all my brain. I'm not getting any writing done at all, nothing productive or creative, not for weeks now. I'm run off my feet in work (the whole team is under stress at the moment, which is only going to get worse when Pregnant Colleague goes on maternity leave, as she isn't being replaced) and then when I get home I just collapse in a heap in front of TV or DVDs! Entertaining, sure, but doesn't do much to keep my brain ticking over...
4. There's a lot of stuff going on with Chelsea at the moment, but it's all very complicated and involved and ongoing - too much so to really go into. Ditto the ongoing situation with the outlaws down in Cornwall. Maybe one day I'll have the energy to write it all up.
