snow!

This was the view from my office window this morning:

That was just after I arrived, looking not un-akin to an Eskimo, having been caught in a particularly nasty snow shower en route. Just ten minutes earlier, Bute Park had looked like this as I walked through:

Eventually, the sun came out. This was short-lived, but pretty while it lasted. Then the snow rolled in again and the view from my office window got whiter and whiter (and the volume of snow on the trees outside grew heavier and heavier)

This was the view from the other window in the office - the skylight!

Yeah, there were about 6 inches of snow all over that come the end of the day!

By mid-afternoon, the (apparently ungritted - what was the council playing at?) roads were starting to get pretty slippery, and my view was still getting ever whiter - definitely time to call it a day and head home while it was still safe to do so!

Just to continue the wintry theme, here are some frosty pics taken a couple of weeks ago, in the last big chill we had:

And finally - a pair of bookends!

So blue is natural ... interesting (as you can guess, I have never seen snow in reality). Must remember to go outside on a full moon and see what the colours are in a non-snowy environment ... I keep forgetting.

The muffling of the sound would be a bit eerie. Free (and very cold) sound proofing :)

PS: Merlin is now "On Hiatus" or are you getting repeats ?

Yep, the blue is natural - just need the right time of day and the right weather conditions.

Merlin is on hiatus, yes, and won't be back on our screens until next autumn. British TV runs in blocks - spring, summer, autumn, winter. Merlin usually falls into the autumn schedule. Then Doctor Who, for eg, sits in the same timeslot in spring, and so on.

Only thing with Merlin ... we won't get that until 2012 and only 10 episodes for Series 4.

I am having withdrawal symptons now ... re-watching Series 1 dvds at night.

At least they are advertising the Doctor Who Christmas Special ... thank goodness.
