...so there's new George Gently this Sunday, which: yay. But it's on at the same time as ITV's new costume drama, Downton Abbey, which I also want to watch. Whose bright idea was that?

Okay, so which one do I trust to appear on iPlayer/Catch Up, and which do I watch live? Decisions, decisions!

I know! Waaaaaah!

I'm figuring I'll watch George Gently, cos it's a one-off and then the week after pick up Downton Abbey on the (slightly *g*) bigger screen. Presuming it's worth picking up. Stoopid scheduling! Why can't they just cooperate and make us all happy? No, the world's gotta be competition, competition, competition...

I promise I'm not stalking you and I don't want to make your decision making process harder but isn't GG two episodes?
Faced with the same dilema I would trust the BBC to have GG on iplayer much more than I would trust the new itvplayer which didn't have the programme I wanted the other day. Miffed, I was!

*eyes not-stalky-lady sideways... is it my other life?* *g*

Oh, it might be two eps, it usually is isn't it! Hmmn - I think I'd still choose to watch it that way around though, cos I know GG will look good on a bigger screen, whereas Downton Abbey is an unknown quantity - I might not like it after the first one at all, and then I will have missed GG on a (slightly) bigger screen... But I expect it depends on your telly/iPlayer screen and stuff too...

I missed the last ep of Grandma's House cos it's not on the Beeb's iPlayer any more - waaaah! It's barely been over a week, and already the whole thing's gone!

I don't have quite the same dilemma, as I can watch iPlayer/itvPlayer through the telly, so...

I'm leaning toward watching GG live, if only because it starts earlier! But then, ITV are even more random than the Beeb over what they make available, so there are no guarantees.

Ah, the follies of competetive scheduling!

This is true - ITV are even more random than the Beeb over what they make available. I'm still cross that Midsomer Murders isn't up.

Well, it's a dilemma insofar as I want to watch both but no problem really. As I will be recording GG in order to copy to dvd for posterity anyway, I'll be watching Downton live.

Alas, I can't watch one channel while recording another, not since analogue TV got switched off - I only have the most basic digital connection through my digi box and elderly TV. One day I will be properly connected...but that doesn't help me this weekend!

ah yes - hadn't appreciated that you'd switched already. We have another couple of years, by which time I fully expect to have had to replace the tv anyway (and have a spare digital box we can link in, if not...) We're not exactly hi-tech but definitely multi-tech over here... :)

Always a tough choice, choosing between shows. They always have to put two that you want to see on at the same time don't they? Good luck deciding on which would be more of import ;)
