Looooooong weekend. I've had Small here since Friday afternoon. We've watched a lot of Charmed. And Gilmore Girls. But mostly Charmed. My brain is now stew. We also played more cricket than I've ever played in my life. And tennis. But mostly cricket. Which is all fine and dandy and good exercise and everything, except that I tripped over a loose concrete slab and went down like a sack of spuds. My knee and chin are now purple, and I ripped a chunk off a toenail, right to the nailbed - nice and raw and bloody. Fun, huh. Accidents and exercise aside, though, she's been really good. Full of neuroses and obsessions, because that's part of her condition, but also incredibly sweet and funny. The cat has been hilarious, as well - she absolutely loves it when we play cricket and tennis, chases after all the loose balls and skips around like a little lamb. I just wish I could wield a video camera at the same time as playing. I'm not sure which was funnier: when Poppy all but somersaulted, flipping herwelf over the ball in an attempt to subdue it, or when she lay down on top of it like a chicken trying to hatch an egg!

My cousin is doing well after his transplant - thank you all for your kind thoughts. The new kidney is functioning well so far. Here's hoping it continues that way - it's still really early days.

Last week I had a job interview in Llandaff. Didn't get the job, but I took a bunch of pictures of the Cathedral while I was there. I just posted a picspam over at [livejournal.com profile] scene_again, if anyone's interested:

Cathedral Picspam

I'm fairly sure I had something else to say, but my brain is tapioca. Some other time, perhaps.

Kids are VERY exhausting. But all the more loveable when you know you can hand them back at the end of the day. How old are your nephews now?

if I had a camera people would probably expect me to make pictures and picspams
Absolutely. *G* It is fun! Going for walks and spotting pretty or unusual or just plain striking sights that are worth recording and talking about. And if you don't start preparing yourself now, how on earth will you manage to play tour guide to me when we are both old and have blue rinses and zimmer frames and finally manage to visit one another?!?!

Heh, true that! My nephews are 4/6/9 yrs old. All three of them together are mad chaos, but take just one of them out of the equation and everything works fine LOL. See, I was thinking of the wee!chesters this weekend when the oldest was told to help the 4 yr old with getting dressed and was totally overwhelmed with that task because the little one was throwing one of his fits. LOL I am thinking way too much about these things! *g*

I am not much of a 'going out and take a walk' kind of girl LOL, but I promise you, should you ever come to visit me, old spinsters or not, I will be prepared! :)

Aww. You aren't the only one who thinks too much - I think anyone who has anything to do with children shudders at the thought of those boys being left alone so young!

Hmm. My mission in life, should I choose to accept it, will be to turn you into a 'go out and take a walk' kind of girl...LOL
