"What do you mean, it isn't a hammock?"

She is just so cute. Typical kitten too, they love getting into boxes even if they don't quite fit.

Thank you for keeping us up to date on Poppy's doings.

Awww @ Poppy in the box and she does look VERY cosy in the 'hammock'! LOL!
I have a great pic of our cat Erica curled up in the dustpan and she nearly made herself fit too!

Poppy's growing up beautifully, isn't she? She reminds me of that poem my children used to love when they were little -
Cats Sleep Anywhere

Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair.
Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge.
Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do.
Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks.
Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere.

Eleanor Farjeon (1881 - 1965)

The behaviour of cats obviously doesn't change at all over the years -
Lovely pictures!

That poem is beautiful. I hope you don't mind me saving it to my LJ.

Lol, it always appeals to cat-lovers, that one - it's just so true! And not mine to say, of course, but possibly out of copyright by now anyway. And since Eleanor was obviously a cat lover, I'd hope she would be delighted you like it so much! And it just trips off the tongue so easily!

I have put the poem in my User Info ... above Rainbow Bridge ... and included the author. It is so true.

Aww, that's lovely, I'm so glad I posted it and you saw it! You can imagine her sitting down and writing it from the heart, in a few minutes, never knowing that it would go on bringig pleasure to other cat lovers all these years later!

Such beautiful pics of your little lady.

Wherever they settle (including boxes), they look comfortable, even though we may not agree.

Yes, Poppy can make herself comfortable anywhere. Except on laps - she doesn't do laps. She only ever wants to cwtch if I'm lying down in bed!

Rosie has taken to sleeping on Dood's pillow at night ... which in our heat is not a comfortable thing. With Dood being bald she probably thinks she is doubling up as a toupee :)

Heh. I can empathise. Since Poppy moved in, there have only been a couple of nights she hasn't spent curled up at the nape of my neck with her head tucked under my chin!

Sooo cute!!!! Your cat has such big eyes! I have a cat too, her name is Dobo. (We didn't name her, we adopted her when she was 4 so she already had a name).

I have more SPN conversation (do I ever have anything else?)

I love Dean's offended expression in the Pilot when Sam and Dean are going outside from Sam's apartment. I also love Dean's eying Jessica, and her expression - she's so used to it, and so over guys like who she perceives Dean to be.

Poppy's not full grown yet, so she still has time to grow into her eyes and ears...I'm betting they will always be huge, though! If you adopted your cat later in life, she was maybe already nice and staid and cuddly and well and truly over the teenage hoodlum phase that Poppy is in...

Dean rules in the Pilot. There's so much subtle character work there that wasn't apparent on first viewing, but then when you go back and re-watch you see more and more every time. Going to Stanford to ask for Sam's help after so much time apart and Sam cutting all contact must have been so, so hard, but he does a good job in general of not letting it show. Even when Sam flat out refuses to help in any way. Heh, and he cracks onto Jessica so automatically, because she's hot, because he has an image to project, and because she's Sam's girlfriend. What kills me most, though, is the way he just switches her off with his very next breath.

Kinda makes you wonder what Jessica made of him, no? Yep, she's clearly used to having guys come on to her. I kinda think she sees immediately that he's doing it to tease Sam more than anything else, by the way she rolls her eyes. But I can't see Dean making a good impression on her in that brief meeting. He tends not to make a good first impression with many people at all, really, which is probably the point of all that defensive posturing. Keeps everyone at arm's length, which protects both him and them.

I do wonder how Dean and Jess would have gotten along. Because we only see her very briefly, and Sam never talks about her, so how do you try to figure out how someone would react to a person when you don't know anything about that person?

As for the new episode...I can't wait either!!! It's killing me. The last new episode, they're actually playing "Nightshifter" right before it. So not only do we get one last new episode, we get a rerun right before it! *is excited*

Alas, we have no way of knowing. I kinda think that Sam must wonder from time to time how they would have got along, in his more melancholy moments. Just one of many regrets I'm sure he harbours, that none of them ever got to find out.

Very exciting. I won't get the rerun, of course, but I can stage my own. *G*

Season three just started airing here last night, so I must remember to do my bit for viewing figures each week. It won't be a hardship ;-) I just wish it was on a regular channel, rather than cable, which not everyone has.

I'm glad that you can at least download the eps; I wonder how come it takes so long for it to air over there?

I'm looking at Skin pics, and I wonder sometimes, how conflicted Dean must feel about Sam's time at Stanford. On the one hand, Sam was happy there, and there's nothing Dean wants more than for Sam to be happy. But Dean's happiest when Sam is with him. I can't imagine wanting to be happy for someone because they're happy but being completely miserable about it at the same time.

Oh, that one is a whole 'nother rant about stupid TV networks and schedules and priorities and whatnot. Don't get me started ;-)

I think it's a terrible thing to have your personal happiness so dependent on other people, but a lot of people live that way, I guess. Dean is just a mass of contradictions. I mean, after the fire his entire life revolved around John and Sam. He was thrust into a caring role long before he was old enough to make any kind of independent choices, and it shaped him and scarred him. Have you read the season one companion? Where JA talks about how Dean tries to do for Sam everything he wanted their Dad to do for him, which is exactly how his actions and reactions come across on screen, and is one of the saddest things about the show. Poor Dean.

Random thought #2: You know what else I find particularly ironic? Dean, who spent his whole life hunting, was going to die in something "normal" like a car crash. And Sam, who was living the normal life for awhile, was the one who ended up dying because of something supernatural.

From: [identity profile] llywela13.livejournal.com
That is very ironic. Also kind of ironic that Dean has been significantly injured a hell of a lot more often than Sam over the course of the show, ending up at death's door not once but twice, but Sam was the one who actually went and died. Poor Dean - he's kept himself between Sam and danger so many times, but in the end there was nothing he could do to protect him. And that fact screwed him up so much. :(

Oh, I want that new episode now!
