in fear and trepidation

llywelaHaven't really said much about work lately, but we've been in the throes of frantic preparations for what seems like forever now, for an exhibition of craftwork that takes place today.
It's been a nightmare to organise. Head office in London usually just have one big event up there, but this year they decided to roll it out to the regions to have heats, with just the winners going on to the London event in September. Fair enough, except that we've not had any one person down here responsible for organising the event, so it's been done piecemeal here and there. I've been a lot more involved than I'd have liked, given that no one ever actually asked me to do it - first I knew was when Betty in London phoned and said she understood she'd be liaising with me over it. I was like, is that right...? Not that I mind so much as it would be nice if I knew.
Getting Boss pinned down over anything has been nigh on impossible, which has made organisation that much harder. It's been giving me nightmares for weeks. Until about a week ago when I decided to abdicate responsibility and not care any more! I'm nervous today, though, even though I know that by some complete miracle we are actually ready and have got some fantastic exhibits in. We've even got a celebrity coming to announce the winners in each category - Chris Needs, who is a well known radio personality in Wales.
Basically, it's an exhibition of arts and crafts by our volunteers around Wales - and we have got some incredibly talented people on our books! So, fingers crossed for a good day. And if anyone happens to be in Cardiff this afternoon, why not pop into County Hall, Committee Room 3, between 2-4pm, to see the exhibition! /end advert *G*
