Many thanks to everyone in LJ land for all the birthday greetings and gifts and whatnot. You are all lovely people :)
Birthday was nice. It would have been nicer if I'd been able to breathe, speak or stay awake, but still. It was nice. Spent the morning lounging around my place, and then went out for lunch with my parents and Small. Small and I share the day; my birthday is also her adoption anniversary. Seven years ago yesterday the judge told us we could keep her forever, so forever more we will have a joint celebration. After lunch we went back to my parents' house, and I promptly fell asleep on the sofa for about two hours. The Calico cat wasn't best pleased about this, as it meant she couldn't make herself quite as comfortable on top of me as she'd have liked; wrong position. My excuse is that I have a nasty cold. Had to wake up when random relatives turned up - my aunt Lel, Nan and cousin Gavin. So, we had a little party tea and hung out together, and that was that. 30th birthday over and done with.
"Everything I know I learned after I was 30," says the card my Mum made for me. I guess that means I have a lot to learn, still...*G*

Date: 2007-02-18 08:47 pm (UTC)Although it depends which sickness you're referring to. This isn't the same thing I had a few weeks ago - that one was all fever and wretchedness. This is completely different. It's all congestion and wretchedness. Stupid viruses. I woke up with the start of it on Wednesday, and it took a couple of days to really hit me, and then wham. Fun. But hopefully the worst is over soon. I'll probably be good and stay off work tomorrow if I'm still like this, though.
*hugs back, but careful not to breathe germs on you*
