randomness
Feb. 2nd, 2007 09:35 amAlong the route I walk to work is a road where, earlier this week, someone has pulled up a few random paving slabs and replaced them with turf. Seriously. It's like that advert for Scrumpy Jacks, only with grass instead of apple trees. Very bizarre. Very random. People are odd.
And now for a mini picspam of my little Calico cat, pictures taken last weekend, in all her fragile, senile glory .
Me and Small with Calico

Running to see what I'm doing, instead of staying put so I can photograph her properly. If I'm in the room, she wants me to be holding her. This makes taking pictures a little difficult.

On my lap, which is like her ground state of being.

Sulking because I've put her down

Asleep in her litter tray (reinstated because she won't go outside any more). What can I say? She's senile.

Small has been making noises about wanting to sleep over this weekend - I haven't had her for a few weeks, as she's either had other stuff on or I've been ill. So, I have no doubt that I'll be unable to say no!

Date: 2007-02-02 04:09 pm (UTC)One of the scariest habits she developed this year was rushing out into the middle of the road whenever she heard a car coming, just for the amusement value of bringing traffic to a standstill! My parents live on a private road set back off the main road, so there isn't much traffic, but still. Scary. These days, though, she doesn't really leave the house anymore, which makes life a little easier. She's just increasingly incontinent. And thick as bricks! But gorgeous, still.

Date: 2007-02-02 10:39 pm (UTC)And your Calico brings back memories for me. I remember one of my cats, beloved Bunter, used to go to sleep in the middle of the road, in his old age - he was 19 when he died. And he was stone deaf by the end, too so he didn't even hear when cars drove right up to him! On one occasion he was sleeping peacefully in the middle of the road (fortunately we lived at the end of a cul-de-sac at the time!) when my hubby drove up. M stopped, got out, picked up Bunter, deposited him on the grass verge, got back into the car ready to drive into the garage - and found Bunter was already back in the middle of the road looking disgruntled! He was a real character was Bunter, very fond of sitting on things - we have photos of him in and on dolls prams, toy trucks, carts, you name it!
My Misty is 17 or 18 now and her hearing and balance is slowly deteriorating, she tends to fall off the arm of the chair and struggles to jump up onto things. But she is still very loving and seems happy, so we just enjoy her for now.
