So my home computer has suddenly become very poorly over the last two or three days. It refuses to load, it freezes, it hangs, it crashes, it refuses to shut down - it is basically an enormous pain in the backside. I have no idea what is wrong with it. Might need to haul my brother out one day, if it carries on like this, to see if he has any bright ideas.

I did. It got worse :( I'm hoping my Technical Advisor will be able to fix it, but he can't get to my place till Wednesday. Until then, thank God for internet access at work and my mum's! Funny how reliant we get on the stupid things.

Mine is running better since I removed my Image Shack toolbar ... do you have that?

I am having lots of problems with my ISP's WEBMAIL ... I log in and then it tells my session has expired! What session ... I have only just logged in ... sign in again ... and yes, I make shaw my name and password are correct. They eventually let me in and when I go to open up an email it wants my name and password again ... unbelievable. I got out and went and logged into Outlook Express and had no problems.

Always one of us being given the run around by a computer, unfortunately.

I don't use the Imageshack toolbar. I'm getting nervous that this might be a virus - it started on Friday, and has been driving me mad all weekend. I just can't get the computer to load any programme, and it is getting worse, so now I think I'm better off not turning it on at all until my brother has had a look. Bah.

Definitely get your brother in. My computer is running smoothly now I have removed the Imageshack toolbar and added my External Hard Drive. Multi tasking has become a whole lot easier.

Still having problems with Webmail ... unfortunately.

So sorry to hear your computer acting up, that's never a fun thing. I hope you'll get your brother, the computer doctor, out to have a look at it soon. Bribe him with goodies to make him come sooner, that always works with my brother ;)

Weird that it's just acting like this out of the blue. Have you checked all the fans to see if they're working? could be the computer is overheating, this is how my computer acted when it started to overheat before I got a new tower for it and bunches of fans...

Me? Check the fans? That's what my brother is for! He's coming round on Wednesday to give the damn thing a complete overhaul. Until then, I am reliant on my work computer! I'm hoping it is something simple, but I'm starting to get scared it might be a virus that my anti-virus protection didn't catch.

Could be a virus but then again, the computer should be acting a bit different if that was the case. Could also be trojans that has invaded, been a specific one going around for a few weeks now, can't remember it's name though but I keep getting it in the mail. But I'm sure that it's not, if your anti-virus program is up to date it should have catched whatever was trying to invade you.

Probably just a small thing that is messing up the big things, it's getting huffy - like the demon in 'fear, itself'.
