Yay for the return of good TV.

Through the autumn there was hardly anything on TV that I watched. I watched Torchwood once it started, and followed the second season of Supernatural at US pace until it went on hiatus, and that was about it. But starting this week there are a whole load of shows returning for me to enjoy.

ER started back on C4 last night. Now, I've drifted in and out of this show a lot over the years, not watching for entire series' at a time, but I got back into it last year, and found that I loved it all over again. The season finale was superb, and so was last night's new season opener. I cared about every single regular character, which is something ER hasn't managed to make me do for a long time.

Judge John Deed returns tonight in the first of a new two-parter. Which feels odd, because it's two one-hour parts - must remember to watch the second part on Thursday! - instead of the usual two-hour episodes. Not sure what it's going to be about, as I've not read any spoilers, but the actual case at hand won't matter - what it will really be about is concluding/continuing the ongoing saga of John and Jo.

Supernatural returns from hiatus this week (US pace) and will be airing on ITV2 at the end of January. Rome also returns next week for the second season, and I'm planning to watch that at US pace as well, since it's unlikely to make UK screens until later in the year. Life on Mars is due back shortly (yay!) although the airdate hasn't been confirmed yet - a case of 'watch this space'. And there's a new period drama starting on the Beeb on Friday, Lilies, that looked interesting, so I think I shall watch that, too, and see what it's like.

Loadsa good telly to choose from all of a sudden. :-)

Yeah, not liking that much. Although, I probably won't get a copy until both have aired anyway, so I will most likely watch them together. I'm getting spoiled with Brit shows... It seems like a lot of them show the first two episodes of a season on one night - And no re-run breaks mid-season.

Heh. No, we tend not to have that dreaded mid-season hiatus that you get in the US. On the downside, a lot of our shows have a much shorter season, so once it's over it's gone for an awfully long time before new episodes emerge.

Second part of the Judge is on Thursday so at least you won't have an entire week to feel jealous of us seeing it first...

Is Life of Mars going to have new episodes? It's been re-runs over here at the moment.

The second and final series is about to air, hopefully sometime soon. :-)

It will be interesting to find out whether he actually goes back to his own time and why this has happened to him!

Yeah, that's the aim of season two, as I understand it, is to conclude Sam's story and provide a resolution. It's fantastic, but isn't the kind of concept that can be dragged out for too long.
