Jan. 6th, 2007 09:28 amMan. Small staying over for the weekend and having a mammoth obsessive loop-the-loop session at bedtime leading to headaches and stress and insomnia for her = no sleep at all for me, either.
So why did I wake up so early this morning? Bah.

Date: 2007-01-06 02:14 pm (UTC)Somebody forgot to tell our moggies it was Saturday again, too. So by six, they decided to come and tell us how much they love us. Do they *know* we're going away tomorrow? No bags have been hauled out. Mystery.

Date: 2007-01-06 04:51 pm (UTC)And mogs have a telepathic knowledge when you're even thinking of going away, in my experience. And mine have been twitchy this morning just because we were packing away the Christmas decorations. Though they will also have detected that my son is packing up to go back to uni, even though he didn't start packing until lunchtime! Which means Misty is now insisting on sitting on my left shoulder, as I type - very uncomfortable! And R's departure will doubtless give rise to several nights of cat yowls outside his bedroom door! But we love 'em, all the same, don't we?

Date: 2007-01-06 07:04 pm (UTC)Can I add you (pretty please?) And 1955? Was a good year. I was born then too.
We had lots of interesting observers while I packed the Christmas stuff too. And that broken bauble I picked up, which was hidden under the tree? I said 'OK, who did that?'. They all denied it. Well, they would ;)
Charlotte was home from Lyon over Christmas too. 'Her' cat was delighted to see her, and sulked in her room for 2 days when she went back. When she first left home, 18 months ago, we had lots of yowling outside her room. Now, though, they seem a bit more philosophical about it all. Just... not when we go away as well.

Date: 2007-01-07 12:24 am (UTC)Yes, please do friend me, I've just friended you - I'd be delighted. I love your stories, the Hannah stories are a particular favourite and I think your alternative versions are very clever! And we already discussed No candle which was just lovely.
As to cats, at least my two old lady cats have finally got too old and creaky to actually climb the Christmas tree this time, though the stuff on the lower branches is still a bit vulnerable. Unless there is anything skulking under the sofa, though, I think our decs were all intact this year. Though hubby and Robin did the tree this year so it only had about half of the amount I usually put on it - you could even see green in places, which you certainly can't when I do it! Tasteful, this year but not OTT. Shame!
The Christmassy paper tablecloth I bought was less fortunate, though, when it came to the cats' attentions - very cosy, Fluff said, and gosh, didn't it tear easily, whenever hubby tried to lift her off it - about ten times a day, usually. (So hygienic!) Heigh ho, my plans for keeping that for another year gone west!
And Misty purrs down the telephone to Jess when she phones - I sometimes think she phones more to talk to the cats than to me! Such is life! Have a good break and hope the moggies are speaking to you when you get back.
And you're obviously a moggy person, too,
