A rainy weekend in November.

The flat I live in is part of a row of three big old Victorian houses converted into flats, sharing communal space out the back - there's a secure off-road car park, and a couple of rotary washing lines that we all share. Usually sharing these washing lines works pretty well. At the moment, though, I'm feeling rather annoyed that someone has left a load of towels out on the line for over a week. I mean, it isn't as if I want to put any washing out there myself - we've had heavy rain every day for the whole of that week these towels have been out there. It's just...the principle of it. They blatantly aren't going to dry, not in this weather - they're just getting dirtier and dirtier by the day, left out there in all weathers. And it just bugs me that they've been left there.

End of grumble. Small is here for the weekend again, but she isn't wonderfully well - she's got a headache and earache, has been off school for a couple of days. Oddly enough, this makes her easier to look after - she's less demanding when she's not well. She's been happy to just sit there drawing, colouring in and watching DVDs so far, instead of begging to be taken out for the day and having money spent on her!

Made a Firefly wall, but I'm not sure I like it. Hmm. I just really love this scene between Simon and River: River having a rare moment of lucidity, demonstrating awareness of everything her big brother has given up for her sake and expressing gratitude the only way she can, by finding something for him to eat - her way of reciprocating - and Simon not caring about any of that, as long as River is safe. It's one of the first glimpses the audience has of the old, sane and happy River that Simon gave up everything for and would do anything to have back - and that glimpse of old, sane and happy River, peeking out from behind her madness, is enough to keep Simon going.

I love that scene :) I always loved the River/Simon relationship. I have to discover lately that strong siblings relationships are something that I thoroughly enjoy on tv shows and apart from Sam&Dean Simon&River are probably my fav siblings pair. I like the composition you chose here, maybe I'd move the whole scene a bit more to the left and River a bit up (and a tad bigger), so you cover more of the space that is now only texturized. I love the bright colors and light atmosphere you catch here. Really lovely!

Ooh, one of your funky new icons :)

Thanks for the feedback! I find myself growing fonder and fonder of the Simon-River sibling dynamic every time I watch FF.

Thanks. I don't attempt walls very often. Hee, and a Dean icon on Nikki - where'd Sam go? ;-)
