just a whinge, please ignore

Boss hasn't turned up today. According to the movements she emailed me on Monday, she was meant to be at the Schools Steering Group meeting at County Hall this morning, and probably was, and then working at home this afternoon. I'd kind of thought she'd at least stop by the office before going on to the meeting at 11, even if only for five minutes to park the car and get a taxi down to the Bay (because no parking down there). Her email even said 'see you Wednesday'. But no sign.

Bah. I made an executive decision on Monday that I'm taking a day off on Friday. All I need is for Boss to agree, but I haven't seen or heard from her to ask. She wasn't working Monday and was supposedly at a meeting in Pembrokeshire yesterday. At least her predecessor, Pingu, used to phone in every day that he wasn't in the office, to make sure that I was!

Tomorrow and Friday Boss will be in because she's got a two day meeting with Natasha to work on a funding bid. That being the case, she probably won't be entirely happy about me having Friday off, because she hates being in the office when I'm not. But right now I honestly don't care. I'm tired of fielding phone calls and not being able to explain to people why she isn't here when she's meant to be, or why she hasn't called them back when, yes, I did pass on their message. I'm especially tired of people telling me her emails are bouncing back. I know that - her inbox is full and she needs to empty it. She's known that for a couple of weeks, and so have I, but she hasn't sorted it out and I can't force her!

So. I'm a wee bit cross with her today. Mostly because I'm feeling manky and hormonal anyway. I'm determined to have my day off on Friday. Bah humbug.

Go for it! It'll do her good to be in the office when you aren't there - and will totally make a change for her!
