Peace reigns once more. Small has gone home.

This was a very hot day to be running around out the back playing cricket. We had a lot of fun, though. I'm glad I bought the new, full size cricket set when I saw it so cheap at the Royal Welsh. I can give the old, half-size set to Deb and Ray for when they finally get this adoption thing sorted out.

Speaking of which - spoke to Deb today. Apparently there's some stuff in the post for me. Time to start doing my official 'second named carer' stuff and fill in some forms, and write a nice letter saying what great parents they will make. Which they will, so I really, really hope they get through all the legalities and technicalities.

They might end up with C, or they might have another child completely. If it is C, though, the hopsital want her out and in a home by Christmas so she could be placed with them as soon as that. Apparently, she's to be fostered for two years pending adoption - the judge who released her for adoption wants her fostered first to prove that she can adjust to life in a real family home after being in hospital her entire life. There is to be letterbox contact only with her parents, who are not to know where she has been placed.

Deb is trying not to get her hopes up, trying not to set her heart on this particular child in case it all falls through. I think it is all very exciting whatever child they end up with. They are also looking into mortgages and houses - it is all very exciting scary and grown-up.

Back to the subject of Small, she was really good with me all weekend and we had a lot of fun. I'm glad, because she had a bit of a stressful Friday - she had a two hour session at home with the Educational Psychologist, since the school have finally realised that they screwed up and set it up for her. The Ed Psych was shocked that it had been left so long, and is coming back for another session next week - she says Small needs a lot of input to get her ready for high school next year, or she is not going to cope at all. We already knew that, hence the anxiety trying to get some action taken. It should have been done a long time ago. Hopefully things will improve now the ball is finally rolling.

One of the many DVDs that Small watched with me over the weekend was the first episode of Supernatural. She declared that Sam is uglier than his brother! Looks like another Dean girl has been born...*G* We also watched a lot of Dark Angel, with Young!Jensen in it. And then after she'd gone home I watched an episode of season 4 Smallville, which just started on Channel 4. I've never watched it before, but have seen two episodes now and found it more entertaining than I expected. None of them are remotely believable as high school students, and I'm confused at how they can still in in high school anyway in their fourth season, but it is still worth watching for Jensen just being there, all adorable and not in high school.

And, on another note entirely, belated congratulations to HernĂ¡n Crespo and his wife Alessia on the birth of their second daughter, Sofia, last month. Now we just need to find out where he's going to be playing next season...

LOL she is ten now - adolescence beckons...

School related ones, yeah - I had no idea what was going on, really. I just kept my eyes open for Jensen and was immensely amused when he was talking about being a grown-up and having guys like Clark come to him for advice - he's younger than the actor who plays Clark!
