Okay. First hurdle overcome - tonight I left my flat all on its own for a few hours while I went to my mum's for tea and sympathy. She made fish and chips especially for me. My Nan was there, too - ostensibly because she'd been to the dentist and popped in afterward, but I suspect my little drama contributed to the decision to visit.

So, I went there and was okay, and came home again and the flat was still intact, so that was good. Everyone came back with me and made no pretense about the fact that they'd come to see the mess rather than to make sure I was okay. *G* Also, Nan had never actually seen my flat before. Kind of wish she could see it for the first time in better condition, mind.

Am now really sleepy.

Tomorrow I'll be back in work, although probably not for the whole day. Boss told me to see how I felt tomorrow, and how I feel is that I need to go in for the Open Day and for my learning disabled volunteer Ros, but will go home early. I'm going round to Molly's tomorrow night but don't want to go straight there and not check everything's okay at home first.

Yes, I'm now paranoid. I figure there's worse things to be. Have now got an old sensor-type alarm from the parents to be going on with, and will invest in a newer, remote controlled one at first opportunity. Once bitten, twice shy, and all that.

It's really awesome you have such a supportive boss - sometimes they can be so insensitive to things like this and it's great you have the support right now. I think it's perfectly acceptable to be paranoid for a while - until you rebuild some trust with the world and regain a sense of personal safety. Do what you need to get by. *I* feel better that you have that alarm. :::hugs:::
