Mar. 1st, 2012 01:46 pmHappy St David's Day, folkses. I celebrated by spending a bit of my jewellery insurance money on a pair of natty little Clogau gold daffodil earrings. Plus we've had Welsh cakes and other delicious things in work today, as part of our Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations. Good stuff.
Took Chelsea along to watch the football last night, for the first time in absolutely ages. I don't think we've been since before I lost my last job! We used to go to all the Wales home matches up at the Millennium Stadium and always enjoyed ourselves, but then when I was out of work I couldn't justify the expense and then afterward we never got back into the habit. But we went last night to the Gary Speed Memorial match, which was just down the road at the new Cardiff City Stadium, which I liked very much (first time I've been inside). 'Twas a decent game - not the best I've been to, but entertaining enough, despite the result. Wales conceded a sloppy early goal and despite putting Costa Rica under heavy pressure (and having a goal ruled out for offside) weren't able to level the score. Still, the result wasn't what mattered. It was a friendly match to honour a much-loved former player and national team coach and the atmosphere was great.
