llywelaBrother Mine has a new job, hooray hooray - it's over a year now since he was made redundant and he's been sliding back into depression at a rate of knots ever since.
Better still, this is the first time he has ever secured a job via interview. Every previous job he's ever had has come about via temp agencies, even the ones that eventually turned into more permanent contracts. He has next to no social skills and is absolutely lousy at face-to-face interaction even with people he knows, never mind strangers (not his fault - he was brain damaged at birth, not enough that he has a recognised disability but enough that he will struggle all his life to get by in mainstream society, although he is completely competent once in a job), so landing this job from a three-hour interview is awesome. He absolutely nailed the practical test, and that sealed the deal.
It's only a part-time contract, but it's a start! Congratulations, Simon!
