Painting and decorating
Sep. 24th, 2005 04:10 pmAfter spending a large proportion of yesterday and most of today moving furniture and sloshing paint around, my bedroom is now yellow instead of magnolia. Phew.
This sudden activity came about because there were damp spots coming through in one corner last winter - that corner of the house is very exposed in bad weather. I gave the walls the summer to dry out, and wanted to treat them before the bad weather set back in again. So, I applied special damp-proofing paint to the areas affected, let it dry, and have now done the whole room in light primrose yellow. It looks nice. I am pleased with myself. Even if my back is aching at the thought of having to move everything back in there when the paint is dry...
Not being content to do things by half, I've also had my fridge de-frosting all day, since the freezer box had frozen itself up almost solid. I'm now trying to summon up some will power to go and clean it all up again!
