Was it just me, or did anyone else get spider vibes off that shrouded 456 ambassador? Something about the shape of it, what little we could see, suggested some kind of spider-type creature to me.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it's a squid. But it kinda looked vaguely arachnoid.

This was a slightly slower-paced episode than the previous two, for the most part - certainly for the first half. As the middle episode in a set of five it would need to be. It was the halfway stage, the chance for everyone to re-group and take stock before the next phase of the crisis strikes, building up to the grand finale.

It was great fun, still, though - and had plenty of action regardless, in the end.

I'm finding Frobisher increasingly interesting. He so clearly knows that what he is doing is wrong and hates himself for it, but is completely willing to go ahead and do it anyway. He totally embodies the seedy underbelly of government, the harrassed man in grey suit who is mild-mannered and put-upon and a family man, who picks up his briefcase and goes to work and is the cause of unspeakable things not because he is evil but because he is just doing his job. Ordinary people just doing their jobs can be responsible for all kinds of horrors, just following orders, one step at a time. How do they live with themselves? By trusting that they are working toward some kind of greater good? By never asking questions? By resigning themselves to the inevitability of what they have to do, because if not them then someone else, so why not? Yeah, I'm finding him interesting. And I'm guessing he'll get his come-uppance eventually!

Makes for an interesting contrast with Jack, who can also be incredibly cold and ruthless...but who Frobisher himself said was a better man, and demonstrated it by not opting for any tit-for-tat child abduction.

I'm also becoming very fond of crazy Clem and his super-sensitive olfactory abilities! I like the way Gwen is with him - and I don't usually like Gwen. I do enjoy her relationship with Rhys now, though, having said that. I have to pretend that season one never happened, mind, but I'm quite willing to erase it from my memory in order to get more out of the now!

Looking forward to the next installment!
