Boss has been throwing forty fits and driving me up the wall this afternoon over document crashes and lost data. I feel it would be impolitic to point out that she brings it on herself by not really understanding the best way to use her PC and datastick and by not listening to advice on the subject, so have settled for making soothing noises and keeping my head down.

Am now stealing five minutes to soothe my own ruffled feathers with a picspam of cuteness. You will all be so, so bored of the baby animals in my life before long, if not already.

The parentals and Small brought their puppy, Ruby, to meet my kitten, Poppy, on Saturday. It's part of the socialisation process for both. Four month old kitten and two month old puppy? Fun and games were had by all!

Poppy went: "Urgh! What is it? Take it away!"
Ruby went: "Oooh, what is it? Can I lick/chew it?"

Poppy. The perspective in this picture amuses me immensely, because it was taken from above, so that the flat surface she seems to be lying on is actually the back of the chair, while the cushion behind her back is lying flat on the seat of the chair!

Ruby

Ruby thought that the dangling balls on Poppy's scratching post were the most wonderful toy she had ever, ever seen.

Poppy was a little perturbed by this, and wondered if she was brave enough to attack the fluffy little intruder. She wasn't. But she thought about it.

She had to settle for watching closely, and glaring a little. You can't really tell from these pictures, because Poppy is in the background, but the kitten is actually bigger than the puppy. Poppy is already very tall and rangy, while Ruby comes from small stock, so this is likely to remain the case.

At one point, while randomly bopping around the place filled with playful enthusiasm, Ruby accidentally ran into Poppy's legs. Poppy almost hit the ceiling, she was so horrified! She kept hanging around, though, trying to work out just what Ruby was.

Poppy in Kill Mode

Perspective. Poppy is getting tall and strong - but looking at her sitting alongside these DVD boxsets, you can see that she's really only a baby still.

When babies get tired out, they don't really care where or how they sleep.

Also on Saturday, after the visitors had gone home, Poppy discovered that if she jumps on my swing-bin in the exact right spot, she can fall in and get stuck. She proceeded to fall in and get stuck as many times as she possibly could. I'm assuming she thought it was fun to make me come and rescue her every time! Have had to jam the thing under a table so she doesn't fall in and suffocate herself in the liner while I'm out. Am now placing bets with myself over what her next mischief will be...she can usually think of something!

Finally, a note for [livejournal.com profile] welshdiver. Gaynor, I saw Wispas on sale, bought one, and ate it thinking of you!
