My Supernatural season two part one DVD arrived today, much to my delight. It isn't officially released until Monday! Better still - it has extras!! Woohoo!
Okay, so it's only a few deleted scenes, but it's still more than the big fat nothing Region Two got last season! So I'm hopping around with delight today. It's ridiculous how happy something so little can make me.
The parents have taken Small off to Oakwood in West Wales today with a couple of schoolfriends, as her birthday treat. I could have gone with them, but cried off - bribed my way out of it, in fact. I've done enough leisure parks with her when she was younger. She's got her friends, doesn't need me to go on rides with her, and there's really no need for a third adult to pay through the nose for the privilege of standing around watching the rides all day. So, they've gone. I've been pottering around the house all day - cleaned the microwave, did a bit of gardening, bit of washing. And now I'm enjoying my shiny new DVDs!
No new Doctor Who tonight, sad to say. I never did post about last week's, I don't think. Seems a bit late now. I liked it - I'm loving how pro-active Martha is, that she challenges the Doctor and doesn't let him get away with anything. I'm glad this 'one trip' thing is over now. She's made an active choice to continue travelling with him, leaving her old life behind for the duration. I also liked her sister, being so supportive in the face of parental disapproval. And the Mr Saxon thing is beginning to intrigue me a little for the first time.
The first part of Supernatural's season finale just about killed me. Sammy! Dean! See - this is the value of being completely, utterly unspoiled. It was a huge effort to stay unspoiled for the finale, but totally, totally worth it. Spoiler free is the only way to fly!
That's a thought I'm going to have to cling to all summer when the show is on hiatus and spoilers are all we've got.
Fuller thoughts at a later date.
