I'm very tired. Some idiot kept trying to phone and text me in the middle of the night last night - wouldn't believe me when I insisted he had the wrong number. Had to turn my phone off in the end, and had a load of messages again this morning when I turned it back on. Idiot. Had to get up, though, because it's the last Sunday School of the session this morning - have to help the kiddies rehearse their play ready for prizegiving tonight.
Maybe next weekend I'll just not get out of bed. Sounds good to me!
Had a good day yesterday. Ferdy-m, who some people on my f-list know, was in town for a James Marsters gig, and we spent the day in Cardiff Bay seeing the sights. Took the waterbus across the Bay to the Barrage, where I inevitably become completely entranced by the sea locks in operation.
Oh, but Aissy, who some of my f-list also know, was meant to be joining us, along with her partner. They set off from Nottingham early afternoon on Friday...and spent the next 21 hours or more in their car! Got completely trapped in all that flooding in the midlands, spent the night in the car on the side of the road in Gloucester, and then spent more hours trying to get back home. I feel so bad for them that they had such an awful weekend, and never made it to the gig. Luckily they seemed to be in good spirits, regardless - the only way to deal with that kind of situation!
The gig was excellent. I'm not really a James Marsters fan - was probably one of only a handful of non-squealing fangirls in the room - but he is a really good performer. The warm-up act, Dan Accio (sp?) was also good, and the surprise of the night was when Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto from Torchwood) came onstage to sing, with James as his backing guitar. Has a surprisingly good voice!
Will post pics later, or possibly tomorrow - got a busy day ahead.
In other news, the world has been overtaken by Harry Potter mania. Now, I was meant to be having the book delivered yesterday, although I wasn't sure when I'd get to read it, having a busy day planned and also not being as eager as most people seem to be. I mean, I enjoy the books and want to see how it ends, but I'm in no rush. But my postman has scuppered me anyway. When I went to leave the house yesterday morning I found a card pushed through the door - 'tried to deliver your copy of Harry Potter at 7.50, but it's too big for the box, please collect from the sorting depot in 48 hours.'
I was in my house at 7.50am yesterday morning, and out of bed. He didn't even bother pressing the bell! Just put the card through the door! And this postman is never around before 8am anyway. I wasn't worried about the book, not planning to read it this weekend anyway, but I am very indignant about the postman's cavalier behaviour. I have so many issues with the post office anyway, this is just adding fuel to the fire.
