Had another good lesson today. Mr Instructor thinks I am very nearly there. Well, it's about time, too.

Thing is, I can drive. Have been able to for ages. But I never feel relaxed enough behind the wheel to actually get through a test, and that's the final hurdle I have to get past. But I'm almost there, and with a bit of luck I'll be shelling out for the darn test sometime in the New Year. Only problem with that is that Mr Instructor is technically retired already, and his instructor licensing runs out at the end of the year. He's looking into a way around this, since he'd like to see me through to the end, now!

Damn. This means I'm going to have to book my theory test and do some serious studying for it!

Heh. And we have film crew, hanging around the court room with all their gear. Literally hanging around - they're all just sitting on the floor doing very little, from what I can see. I suppose making TV involves a lot of sitting around waiting for something to happen.

Not sure what's being filmed - it's been a while since we had film crews in the building, but they do like to use us as a location, since we have that fully fitted court room complete with cell on the premesis, still - but if I had to guess I'd say something for S4C again, probably Pobol y Cwm.

Whatever, it's a spark of interest on a dull Monday in work!

MUM: "I think you've given me your cold."
SMALL: "I can't have given you my cold - I've still got it!"

Bless her heart. All these years she's gone around breathing heavily all over people whenever she had a cold, she's honestly believed that if she could give it to someone else she would no longer have it herself...

The kids were worryingly good travelling to and from club tonight, and I felt tremendously fond of them all. But only in small doses. It's always nice to hand them back to their parents, come home and shut the door again to peace and solitude!

Bit worried about my volunteer Cyril in work. He's one of our stalwarts - has been running a large project for school volunteers for over a decade now. But he's turning 80 next year, and hasn't been able to come into the office for a couple of weeks now as his back has been really bad. Bless him, he frequently drives me up the wall when he's in, he's so obsessive compulsive, but then when he isn't around I get all worried about him. I hope he's better soon. Boss has had a bright idea that maybe we could go and visit him at home next week, but only time will tell if that comes off. She was in the office today, before and after a lengthy meeting, but has now gone swanning off to Paris for the rest of the week with her Rich Boyfriend. Half her luck.
