Talked to my mum about the holiday next week. She says she's spoken to Deb, who has made a resolution to be more laid-back this year.

Me: "Deb? Laid-back? That's not physically possible, is it?"

Mum narrated how the conversation had gone, paraphrasing somewhat.

Mum: "So you haven't done all your usual lists and rotas, then?"
Deb: "No. But I can if you want me to!"
Mum: "No, no. We always managed perfectly well before you started doing them."
Deb: "I know. But I can do them if you want me to. Do you want me to? Because I can..."

Last time Deb tried to be relaxed on holiday, she ended up having a meltdown mid-week. "I'm bored! I'm homesick! I haven't got any work to do!"

My sister is the Monica Gellar of the family. It's something we've all learned to live with. It'll be interesting to see how this works out.
