Having a fun weekend with Small - she's being picked up this afternoon, but is currently amusing herself out the back, so I've got a couple of minutes to catch up on emails, etc.
She's a lot of fun to hang around with when she's in this mood - happy and excitable. We had a busy day yesterday and didn't even accomplish half the things on her list. We played cricket, then went into town and saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean. She thought it was scary and clung to my arm all the way through, but also laughed a lot, so it couldn't have been that scary. Then we had lunch in town (Burger King, and at the grand age of ten she has progressed from Happy Meals to adult meals) before heading over to the Big Weekend for the afternoon.
We went on a lot of rides. It cost me a fortune. But we had a lot of fun. Then we headed home and I cooked, and we spent the evening cwtched up on the sofa watching DVDs. Apart from a short trip to the Spar - I walked Small across the road and then let her go to the shop and conduct the actual financial transactions herself. She was all proud of herself for managing it without an adult present to fall back on.
So - will have to cook us some lunch soon and re-pack her bag ready for her to go home.
