A year ago, when I had Small to stay over at weekends, she was all about going to the park, or going swimming. And if we hired a DVD it would be Shrek, or Toy Story - something like that. These days, she wants me to take her shopping for trendy clothes, and the films we hire are of the Mary-Kate and Ashley/Hilary Duff variety. The girl is growing up fast.
She still always wants me to play cricket and tennis out the back, though. The rain prevented that this weekend just gone. I took her into town for lunch and bought her a denim jacket in the sales instead. Maybe now she'll stop pinching mine...
It really is coming to something when your ten year old sister can borrow your clothes and they fit. I'm not even short! She's just very tall and well built for her age. It is scary how fast she's changing from little girl into pre-adolescent.
Today, being the bank holiday, has been all about solitude - I did loads of cooking and cleaning, and have barely spoken to another living soul all day. Bliss. Tomorrow I'm off work again, going to Middleton with the family. Then it's back to the grindstone on Wednesday for a nice, short working week.
