llywelaBah. Feeling unaccountably peevish this morning, but have no good reason for this. Plenty of niggly little reasons, but no real excuse for curmudgeonliness.
My shoes, that I've worn all week in perfect comfort, decided this morning to rub horribly, resulting in a severe case of blisters on the heel which I've had to doctor in the hope of being able to get home without too much crippling agony tonight. How annoying.
Boss is meant to be taking me out for lunch today. It's now 11am and she hasn't turned up yet. If she doesn't make it into the office, I suppose that means lunch is off. But more to the point - we're in the middle of a staff recruitment process for the vacancy in Pembrokeshire and the deadlines are really tight. Closing date is tomorrow, and we both have a half day for it. I need direction regarding what she wants done, but have barely seen her - barely even knew it was happening before applications started coming in. So annoying.
Spent yesterday evening at Molly's which was nice and relaxing as usual. Jason has got man-flu, so to avoid his germs and moans we ate out in the garden, since all of a sudden it is almost summery, weather-wise, and then sat in the kitchen to talk and read the papers. As a result of which, we learned that the next-door-neighbours have got a family of rats living in their bird house!
Now, I know I should be horrified about the rats. But...they were cute. And kept us so wonderfully entertained, sitting there watching them - two parents and a couple of very lively babies. More amusing is the fact that Sue and Nobby, whose bird house it is, are terrified of rats and have absolutely no clue that their bird house has been so colonised.
I can afford to be amused about the rats. It isn't my garden!
Got home just in time to avoid a tremendous thunderstorm. Very glad the rain cleared up before morning.
