yes, unfortunately my kids and my nephew are all a bit older now, can't cluck over them anymore (although I still get some good cuddles) - they're old enough to realise Doctor Who isn't as good as it used to be! Love the handing back bit though - doesn't get better than that!
Thanks! She's already quite the chatterbox - never quiet and never still!
It's a Disney Dalmation suit she's wearing in that one picture, rather than leopardskin - reminds me of her mother as a little girl, who could never remember the word 'dalmation' and always said 'domination' instead!
I know. Everyone else comments on how they think she looks like Jamie, and she does have some of his features, but when I look at her all I see is Chelsea. She's such a happy little thing - even when she's upset, she's still trying to smile.
She saw an unexpected naked man on the telly this week and laughed her head off!
What a pretty little thing she is, to be sure! How is Chelsea managing motherhood? I've been wondering whether she's able to cope or whether her various problems get in the way. She's so lucky to have a wonderful family to help her
Chelsea's doing okay, on the whole - most of the problems she's had have stemmed more from being unwell than from her autism. She had such a bad birth experience - first the liver condition (cholestasis) and the inducement (being in hospital for almost a week was pure sensory overload), then the third degree tear from front to back, right down to the muscle - that'll take 3-6 months to heal, they say. She hasn't stopped bleeding yet. She had a slight infection at the time of the birth, and has suffered from thrush since. We're at 10 weeks now and she hasn't been well in all that time, although she tries hard to put a brave front on. She does rely pretty heavily on my mum's support (Jamie tries, but is fairly useless). But she's really good with the baby, and absolutely adores her - she errs on the side of being over-protective and over-cautious, rather than neglectful like her own parents. She has very firmly held ideas about how a child should be raised - she's basically trying to re-create her own childhood experience for Layla. It's actually quite touching to see how many of the things we did for and with Chelsea, she's remembered and wants to do for Layla.
If we could just steer her away from the very bad influence of her closest friend, she'd be fine...
The baby is doing really well. She's such a happy little thing, always smiling and chatting.
