Well said. I don't even analyse the show in depth, I simply experience a complete disconnect from the characters; very little in the show engages me, emotionally, these days, and even though there are some great ideas in there, they are buried under the constant contrived plotting. Listen in particular comes to mind, which had such a fantastic premise and some genuinely scary moments - and then it just got swept away in Danny Pink/Clara time-travel plot. Meh. All in all, I am either bored or annoyed by DW nowadays, so I simply let go of the show. It's a shame, considering how much I was invested in the show back when RDT was at the helm, but I just see no point in continuing.
