In other news, this is the fourth day in a row that I have been completely unable to speak. Perhaps I should start to entertain the possibility that this might actually be a throat infection, rather than just a cold?

I'm not sure going out in the freezing temperatures last night was the best thing for my cold, mind, but I'm glad I went. It was a fab concert - the singing was fantastic and I had an amazing seat, right at the front, best view in the house (took with me a friend who neither speaks a word of Welsh nor even has a television, so I'm not sure quite what she made of it all, but she loved the singing, at least!). It was also my first experience of being stageside at a live television broadcast, which was rather fascinating!
The concert turned out rather more dramatic than anticipated, however, when one of the choristers collapsed in the middle of a performance! Cue a hasty cut to commercials (although not until the song was over) while she received medical treatment and revived enough to walk off the stage. I sincerely hope that she is fully recovered now.
Overall, a highly entertaining evening - and best of all, the tickets were free!
Now, if only I could shake this cold and regain my voice, I will be completely happy...

Maybe I should send around Doyle, Robert and Huw to take a look at you ... nothing like having back up when it comes to a medical diagnosis :)

Date: 2010-11-29 01:21 am (UTC)I'm also glad the lady was able to walk off on her own. From where I was (up in the choir stalls above the stage) I couldn't see what was going on (and having reading glasses on didn't help), so I only knew that someone had been taken ill and that medical attention was being sought. Charlie thought he saw CPR being given, but I assume that he was mistaken if the lady was able to walk off.
I hope your cold/throat/lurgy does the decent thing and leaves you in peace soon. Thank you so much for sacrificing your health (and common sense!) to come and see the concert. Get well soon.
