Took my little kitten Poppy to the vet this morning to be spayed. As predicted, she was cross about the nil by mouth thing, although she wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting - she is usually really, really naughty when she wants food. I did make sure she was well fed last night, mind - gave her some posh expensive food as a treat to be certain she'd eat well before her 9pm deadline. And eat well she did. Didn't stop her wondering where the hell her breakfast was this morning, but she opted for pitiful rather than naughty. Kept giving me these big woebegone eyes of why aren't you feeding me? Look! I'm being good!

Poor baby. This is my last day in work before Christmas, so I'll pick her up tonight and then can hang out with her at home while she's sore and sorry for herself the next couple of days.

Poor little kitty! And after she 'helped' you wrap Christmas presents the other day and all! Remember, kitty escapades make for good pic spam... don't forget the camera when she enjoys the unwrapping part of Christmas!

Sadly, cats have very little concept of delayed gratification. We have to look out for them in the long run.

Poppy will be happier later, though she doubtless won't remember to thank you. Oh well. *scratches Poppy's ears*

I hope Poppy talks to you when you pick her up and doesn't treat you like Enemy Number One for a while.

I'm shaw this won't affect Poppy half as much as it is affecting Mum. Can remember one of our ladies the day after the operation, when she escaped outside and climbed way up a tree, stitches and all. Talk about a worry!! Didn't seem to harm her though.

I really hate the pitiful look they can give as it makes you feel awful.
