I always love reading your reviews - there's all sorts of little things that make the eps sink in much better. This episode felt like it was kind of easing us in slowly, not starting out with anything too heavy, unless you count Dean telling Sam that the deal's revoked if they - and by they I mean Dean - tries to get him out of it.
I'm...not going to comment on Blondie, whose name I believe is Ruby.
I wasn't impressed either - she was all, "I'll follow Sam around town, save his life using a knife that isn't supposed to exist, and then just walk away!" Not impressed.
One thing that I loved/freaked me out was that Pride demon knowing who Sam was his calling Sam "the prodigy, the boy king." What the heck kinda power does Sam have, that he would have demons like the 7 Deadly Sins bowing to him if the YED's plan had worked? And does he even still have it anymore?
Some of my favorite moments: Dean "comforting the woman" and then asking Sam what HE'S doing, and Sam being all. "Workin'. Dead body." I wasn't so crazy about Dean's coughing fit and his bringing up the deal, but it was done in such a gentle, Dean way that it wasn't so bad.
I LOVED the title screen too; I already have screencaps of it saved. I'm glad that they kept the actual "Supernatural" part the way it's always been. I don't know what it's called, but that jumping around is awesome.
