Midsomer Murders was great fun last night. They went to North Wales! That's a long way from 'Midsomer'. The helicopter sequence was like a tourism advert for Snowdonia, and I've had Calon Lan stuck in my head ever since. I was a bit dubious about the bloke from North Wales applying for a Home Office grant to rejuvenate his slate quarry. I dunno about heavy industry like that, but I know that the voluntary sector in Wales no longer has access to Home Office grants - the Welsh Assembly has its own (much smaller) pots of money instead. But that was a minor possible quibble. The episode was a lovely, cosy fun two hours, just like MM should be.

Also, Sharon Morgan was in it. Her daughter Saran is in Small's class in school, looks just like her. Always funny seeing her on TV.

Just wish ITV would air the show consistently, in a block, instead of tossing the episodes out here and there. They only ever make 4 or 6 episodes at a time as it is.

I'm surfing SPN gen friends, and I hope you don't mind a random comment?
Quarry in Blaenau has serious problems, all over our news, bet they would have loved a grant

Eh, random comments always welcome - hi :)

I bet they would love a grant! I just know that grant funding is tricky for the voluntary sector in Wales (where I work) because of the way devolution affects funding streams. Voluntary organisations like mine have to go through the Assembly, can't go to the Home Office at all - most big Home Office grant schemes are England specific these days. The WAG might have its own pots of money, but they are a lot smaller, and have different priorities attached.

That's the vol sector, though. I dunno how it works for industry. Maybe they can still go through the Home Office.

And...it was a TV programme anyway *G*

I love Midsomer Murders but I just can't keep up with the scheduling, it's driving me nuts.

Cardiff Central - we're still Lib Dem, it seems. Not that we had a great pool of candidates to choose from.

I know! They make about 6 episodes at a time, but show them one here, one there - I catch them if I'm lucky. Madness.

ROFL You're browsing back a long way! But, I did know that you'd been away even without you saying so, so I guess you're home now and catching up.

I've been to Disneyland Paris, but not the Florida one. Also a random comment...

Hope you had a fab trip.
