Nov. 8th, 2006 08:52 pm"Help! Help! This Securicor vehicle is under attack! Please call the police! Help! Help! This Securicor vehicle is under attack! Please call the police!"
This plaintive little message was being loudly proclaimed by way of alarm as I made my way home from work tonight. Passers by were goggling, but no one seemed all that eager to rush to the aid of the poor stricken vehicle or the highly embarrassed looking Securicor employee trying desperately to shut the darn alarm back off, still less did anyone seem all that eager to heed the vehicle's request and actually call the police.
At least, I presume it was an embarrassed Securicor employee I saw, rather than a hardened crim that also happened to be an excellent actor...
Can't quite see the point of alarms if no one ever reacts to them anyway!
I thought the alarm itself was fricking hilarious, though. "Help! Help! This Securicor vehicle is under attack! Please call the police! Help! Help! This Securicor vehicle is under attack! Please call the police!"
I want one for my car, if I ever pass my test and get it back on the road!

Date: 2006-11-08 09:05 pm (UTC)And the fact that no one was moving a finger to help the poor stricken vehicle.
Kinda put me in mind of those signs they put on doors saying 'this door is alarmed'. Always makes me want to pat them gently and say 'there, there.'
