Walking all the way into town at lunchtime today to buy (a) a birthday present for Little Sis, who turns 9 this Saturday and (b) a new baby card for my cousin and his girlfriend, who had their first last Saturday (congratulations G&N!!) was probably worth it just for the spectacle of a 6-foot leprechaun, complete with pointed boots and hat and mushroom cunningly disguised as a stool, miming with a penny whistle to pipe music coming from the stereo behind him.

Street music just ain't what it used to be.
