llywelaA girl and her horse. This is Chel with Pippa, the horse she is in charge of looking after during the two days a week she spends on work placement at the Amelia Trust Farm.
Lambs! Chelsea delivered one of these little beauties - it was her challenge for that week. The kids on placement at the farm get a challenge every week, something to stretch them and teach them new skills. One week, for example, Chel was allowed to drive a tractor as her challenge. Now me personally, if I was putting a 14-year-old who'd never driven before behind the wheel of a tractor, I'd make sure they were in an empty field, not a crowded car park, but that's just me. As it is, well, she missed all the cars, by luck rather than judgement, but did manage to reverse into a tree that will never be quite the same again... When they asked her to deliver the lamb, they expected it to be born dead as it was premature, but she delivered it safely and gave it a swing and it lived! Lamb Number 16, although you can't see which one it is from this angle. Chel hasn't shut up since about how gross the experience was!
The donkeys on the farm are called Arthur and Merlin. 'Nuff said.
...just realised I never did sit down for 5 minutes to reply to all the lovely comments on my last post. I'm sorry! I'm so bad at LJ lately!
