The cat was so funny yesterday. I've got Small staying over for the weekend, and usually when she's here and plays out the back kicking or hitting a ball around, the cat stays well away. Yesterday, though, Poppy decided that she was over all that. In between rain showers, Small and I played cricket for the first time this summer because the bat has been broken, amd Poppy decided that she wanted to play, as well. So she put herself in to field. Seriously. She was chasing all the loose balls, skipping around like a baby lamb! It was the most hilarious thing ever. *G*

I needed a bit of hilarity yesterday. Last week was not my best ever. But Small is always good fun to hang out with, even if an autistic 12-year-old in the house doesn't exactly make for getting much done!

On Friday I decided I needed a day away from everything, so I took myself off to St Fagan's, the Welsh National History Museum. It's an open-air museum housing over 40 original buildings from different periods in time. Getting there on the bus is a little awkward, but it's free entry, and I like to take a book and a picnic now and then, and have a really relaxing day. I browse the exhibits, find a shady spot to sit and read - it's a good way of getting away from it all for a little while.

Should be, anyway. When I went on Friday, though, I went and left my bag on the bus. Not my handbag, luckily, which had my purse, phone, keys, etc. It was the other bag, containing camera, book, lunch and other oddments. I was so, so cross with myself. Worse, there are two different bus companies covering that route, and the one I'd used wasn't coming back for another three hours, and there was no phone number on the ticket to call in about lost property collection. So, I took myself into the museum and tried to salvage what I could of the day. I always enjoy browsing the exhibits - I took a bunch of pictures with my mobile phone that I can post if anyone is remotely interested in historic buildings - but was too busy worrying about my lost camera (and lunch!) to be able to relax. And relaxing was meant to be the whole point of the day!

There's a happy ending to the story, though. After waiting three hours, I went back outside to meet the 302 when it rolled past again, and the driver had my bag under his seat, contents intact. I could have kissed him. My camera might not be great, but it's the only one I've got, so I was hugely relieved to have it back.

Now, I've not talked about Doctor Who for a few weeks now. Not because I've not had any thoughts, but I've just not had a chance to sit down and write them up, and then I was just too behind to catch up. So I'm not even going to attempt a commentary on the episodes I've missed. Just to say that this week's episode? Spoiler )
