snagged from a few people

'You are breakfasty, like a pile of pancakes on a Sunday morning that have just the right amount of syrup, so every bite is sweet perfection and not a soppy mess. You are a glass of orange juice that's cool, refreshing, and not overly pulpy. You are the time of day that's just right for turning the pages of a newspaper, flipping through channels, or clicking around online to get a sense of how the world changed during the night. You don't want to stumble sleepily through life, so you make a real effort to wake your brain up and get it thinking. You feel inspired to accomplish things (whether it's checking something off your to-do list or changing the world), but there's plenty of time for making things happen later in the day. First, pancakes.'
Mwahahah.
Also. It is the beginning of February. That's mid-winter by anyone's standard. We're in the middle of a rather nasty cold snap. Yet when I went into town today, all the shops were like "coat? what's a coat? Check out our lovely spring selection, ready for when the weather turns warm again, in about three or four months time, if we're lucky." Bah. I was looking for a cheapish winter coat for Small, who has managed to lose four or five coats since starting secondary school in September. And two PE kits. And a couple of purses, and bus passes... It's an expense, and an irritation, but she does need to have a warm coat in this weather. Except that no one sells them at the time of year when you really need them. Eventually found something that will do in Primark. And she'll probably only lose it anyway.
