Dec. 23rd, 2007 09:28 pmMy sister is home this weekend with her husband. Arrived yesterday, and are travelling back to Kent tomorrow evening, as Ray has to work Christmas Day on the ambulances. So, with today being their only full day here over the holiday, Deb decided to invite everyone, and I mean everyone, to my parents' house this afternoon.
Ever tried to cram a couple of dozen people (plus over-stimulated puppy) into a pokey little end-of-terrace? Fun times! And yet, yes, genuinely fun. Maybe not always quite enough chairs to go around, but the food was good, and it's always good to get family and friends together. And then a whole bunch of us went around to our Carols by Candlelight service at the church, which is always beautiful, and is also always packed, so our numbers kind of padded the place out even more!
But that's what Christmas is all about, really. Spending time with the people who matter to you. It's been a good day.
Tomorrow we're doing Christmas with Deb and Ray before they leave, and are going to see the White Christmas stageshow down at the Millennium Centre in the Bay. And then it's full steam ahead into Christmas proper!
